To radiate on the outside we must first be radiant inside. The enemy of inside radiance is shame, which comes from an absence of understanding God’s forgiveness.
(Psalm 34:17-18 MSG) Is anyone crying for help? God is listening, ready to rescue you. If your heart is broken, you’ll find God right there; if you’re kicked in the gut, he’ll help you catch your breath.
What are the external threats and internal shames that make you feel unloved? Submit yourself and your shame to God. God wants us to stop looking at ourselves poorly, as He feels unconditional love towards each of us. His affection towards us is relentless. Don’t confuse hating sin for hating yourself for sinning. We have been separated from sin through Jesus’ death on the cross. As a result, we are no longer slaves to sin (Romans 6:6) as there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:1-2).
(James 4:6-8) God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. Submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.
